NAANA strives to uphold and cultivate the Anthroposophic medical and nursing practices indicated by Rudolf Steiner and Ita Wegman. We work to further enhance the quality of caregiving and to develop an support the community of Anthroposophic nurses through peer support, education, research and collective collaboration. Anthroposophic nursing extends the art and science of nursing to an expanded view of the human being as a spiritual being within a physical body. We walk the path with the patient on their journey to healing. The patient's path is respected and supported within their individual healing process. Anthroposophic nurses aim to support the patient's innate ability to heal, offering support and caring by way of the nurse's inner attitude. The patient experiences a sense of well-being and a feeling of health that extends beyond the physical body alone.
