A course designed to introduce the principles of nursing practice extended by anthroposophy. It includes a range of Anthropsophic Nursing topics that address the anthropsophic foundations of nursing assessment, diagnosis, interventions, healing impulses, and also focuses on personal and professional development.

The foundation training is held in one-week intensives, annually for three years. During these years, students desiring certification as an Anthroposophic Nurse are required to continue with self-study assignments and work with an experienced Anthroposophic Nurse mentor.

To be eligible for Certification as an Anthroposophic Nurse the following requirements must be met:

  • Current license as a registered nurse
  • Attendance at the Foundation Course in Anthroposophic Nursing for three years.
  • Work with a mentor for two years.
  • Complete required papers, plant-study, nursing care reports and documentation of self-study.
  • Satisfactory assessment of practical skills and knowledge conducted during the third year of training.

Registered nurses and others who seek knowledge and self development, but are not interested in certification are also welcome to attend the week long courses, but will not be eligible for certification without complete compliance with self-study and course requirements.

The 2018 week-long intensive will take place April 21-28 in Chestnut Ridge, New York.

Current NAANA members receive a registration discount (as reflected on the registration form). Current nursing students may be eligible for Student Nurse pricing. A limited number of work-study discounts are also available.
